Loughborough Dynamo Sportsman Dinner

Loughborough Dynamo FC will host the first of a series of sportsman's dinners on Saturday 13th July and are delighted to announce that they have secured the services of former Arsenal and England legend Paul Merson as guest speaker for the event.

Merson is a new kid on the block as far as after-dinner speaking is concerned. Whereas most soccer speakers on the circuit regale the audience with retrospective anecdotes, Paul is current. Younger members of the crowd can associate more easily with his laid back approach. Here is a man who has truly confronted his demons and is not afraid to discuss them openly. He is a joy to listen to and can captivate any audience with the story of his amazing journey.

Supporting Merson on the night will be highly acclaimed comedy impressionist Mike Maguire.

Celebrity impressionist Mike Maguire has been taking the comedy circuit by storm. He has already appeared on national television with Des O’Connor. His impressionist act has been earning him rave reviews from his live audiences – a gig at the Palace Theatre in Manchester had the audience screaming for more.
His act consists of over 100 impressions, the likes of Sir Terry Wogan, Bob Geldorf, Sir Trevor Brooking, Jim Bowen, Mick McCarthy, Sir Alex Ferguson, Frank Bruno, Alan Hansen are just a few of the impressions Mike does, many famous soap stars and other Sporting Personalities are also in his repertoire. People who have seen his act describe it as “funny non-stop”.
In January 2001, Mike hit the headlines throughout the world, when on his radio show he called the then England manager Sven Goran Eriksson and impersonated Kevin Keegan, a hilarious prank which brought considerable recognition of Mike and even Sven saw the funny side of it.

The evening takes place at Charnwood College, Thorpe Hill, Loughborough on Saturday 13th July.
